LandMaps

One map for NSW property context — instead of bouncing between government datasets.

LandMaps property intelligence map with cadastral layers

Data · GIS · Software · Open data

The problem

Useful property information was scattered.

Cadastre, valuation, soils, climate, vegetation — all available, all in different places. Preliminary land assessment meant opening half a dozen portals and piecing a picture together by hand.

The question

Can one search surface the layers you actually need?

Not every dataset at once — the right context for a property, starting from an address or lot/plan.

The build

A searchable NSW property map.

LandMaps brings cadastre, addressing, elevation, climate, soils, land capability, biodiversity, vegetation, valuation and sales data into one spatial interface.

SOURCE → TRANSFORM → MAP

The outcome

A faster preliminary picture from one place.

Users can search a property and explore layers without jumping between government map services. Live at landmaps.org.

What we learned

More layers is not the hard part.

Provenance, limitations and preliminary-use disclaimers matter more than stacking data. The map only helps if people know what they can and cannot decide from it.

Could this be useful to you?

We're interested in how property intelligence works in the real world — valuation, farm management, or something we haven't thought of.
